Scale – Not the Weighing Kind

Do you have mineral deposits, scale, on your sinks and showers? Faucets and water dispensers? How would you know? It’s that white crusty stuff that forms where water sits or drips.

You see the water we use is mostly taken from the ground and that means it has microscopic bits of dissolved stone, or ‘mineral deposits’. So when water sits on a surface or drips from a faucet, tiny bits of minerals are left behind and over time these build up and cause scale.

How do you remove the scale you ask? Norwex makes a fantabulous Descaler that works like magic!! See the before and after pictures? Aren’t they great? I can’t say enough good things about this product! I absolutely LOVE it!!

Remember the scale got on the surface over time, in layers; so when you use our descaler it might take a few applications to remove all the scale because you will be removing it in layers as well. When I initially use descaler on a surface I usually have to apply it a few times to get the build up off. Then I can use just enough as a ‘maintenance’ amount.

The Rubber Brush

Norwex sells a Rubber Brush – which by the way is AWESOME!! There are lots of uses for the Rubber Brush. I’ll list some here, but you may have some of your own. We’d love to hear what they are, so feel free to share in the comments.

Use the Rubber Brush to:

• Clean the yellow Mop Head when it’s full of dirt.
• Clean animal fur off your microfiber furniture.
• Brush the crumbs off the floor of your car.
• Clean the animal hair out of the animal bed.
• Brush dust and dirt off the dust mitt or envirowand.
• Brush your dog or cat.
• Brush lint and hair off your wool coat.

And it’s soooo easy to keep clean – just run it under water! Here’s a video of me and a helper using The Rubber Brush.

Care and Feeding of your Norwex

There’s not a lot to it. All you need to do is properly wash and dry your microfiber when it gets dirty. Use Norwex Laundry Detergent for best results, but that isn’t necessary.

1. No bleach
2. No fabric softeners or dryer sheets

That’s it! Simple.

Q. How often should you wash your Norwex?
A. Wash when it gets dirty. If you use it regularly wash every 1-2 weeks. Or if you prefer wash it every time you use it.

Norwex microfiber is good for 500 washings, so you can  “Keep It Clean” however you prefer.

Wetter Water

Did you know that water is really quite a good cleaner all by itself? One article indicates water alone gets hands 4 times cleaner than not washing – WOW! If that’s the case, then why do we need soap? It turns out soap makes water ‘wetter’ – or gives water the ability to dissolve dirt to get rinsed away.

The ingredients in soap that helps water work better are called surfactants; SURFace ACTive AgeNTS. There are complicated chemical processes that happen when soap is added to water. The water molecules have their surface tension reduced allowing water to work better, and the soap binds to the dirt. Then we rinse and the dirt goes away with the soap!
