Microfiber Booster – for your laundry

A client recently contacted me about her Norwex bath towels. She LOVES them, and takes really good care of them, so they should last her for years. Lately tho they don’t smell so clean, and she reached out to ask for advice. I suggested a deep clean of her towels and in the telling I realized that adding the Microfiber Laundry Booster to her Norwex cleaning collection could help with this as well…so I suggested it, and now I’m suggesting it to you as well.

Microfiber Laundry Booster

The Microfiber Laundry Booster is new to Norwex in the last few years and I use it regularly; both as a booster by adding a scoop to the load, and as an additive to Ultra Power Plus powder. “What the what?!!”, you ask. Here are the two ways I use this fabulous product and the third Norwex recommendation to use in deep cleaning…

  1. When I open a new bag of Ultra Power Plus powder detergent I add 1/4 to 1/2 cup to the bag, seal it back up and shake. I like the extra boost that gives me every time I wash a load.
  2. If I’m washing a particularly dirty, smelly, and/or grimy load I add a scoop to the washer, right along with my powder or liquid Norwex laundry detergent. (Reminder: always add detergent first if you don’t have a detergent dispenser.)
  3. Put a full scoop in HOT water and soak Norwex cloths 30 minutes. Rinse then launder.

Thanks Nanci for the ask…I appreciate it!

Laundering Your Norwex

Lots of questions about this lately. And I hear some interesting stories about how people keep their Norwex clean. It really is simple though, just wash in the washer and dry in the dryer. But like all your favorite items there are a few things you’ll want to pay attention to in keeping your Norwex in tip-top shape!

Four Simple Rules:

  1. No fabric softener, dryer sheets or bleach.
  2. No linty items in the load. (Wash all your Norwex together or with your bedsheets.)
  3. Use a laundry detergent with no fillers, such as Norwex laundry detergents. Of course!
  4. Toss in the dryer.

See how easy that is?! Remember your Norwex microfiber has a 2-year warranty. So use it – and keep using it. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Two are Really Better than One

Two what? Two dusting mitts! Because why? Because you can put one on each hand.

Now rub them together to get the static going and dust halfway around the house. Next, change the dust mitts to the opposite hands and voilá, you have two clean sides to finish the dusting.

Save $7.99

OR – give one to each kid so no one is left out. OR – give one to your significant other to help you dust, sharing chores gets it done quicker so more time for fun!

And wouldn’t ya know it – this month Norwex offers the Spring Cleaning Power Pack just for this purpose!

The Rubber Brush

Norwex sells a Rubber Brush – which by the way is AWESOME!! There are lots of uses for the Rubber Brush. I’ll list some here, but you may have some of your own. We’d love to hear what they are, so feel free to share in the comments.

Use the Rubber Brush to:

  • Clean the yellow Mop Head when it’s full of dirt.
  • Clean animal fur off your microfiber furniture.
  • Brush the crumbs off the floor of your car.
  • Clean the animal hair out of the animal bed.
  • Brush dust and dirt off the dust mitt or envirowand.
  • Brush your dog or cat.
  • Brush lint and hair off your wool coat.

And it’s soooo easy to keep clean – just run it under water! Here’s a video of me and a helper using The Rubber Brush.

Deep Cleaning Demonstration

For those of you who like a visual I’ve created a Deep Cleaning Video so you can see the process. I borrowed two really dirty cloths from customers (thanks Kay and Andrea). Watch these cloths come clean right before your very eyes!!

Keep this in mind:

  • You can boil water on the stove and add the cloths to clean them. I don’t use this method because I would walk away and the cloths would end up permanently stuck to my pan! I prefer to boil the water and pour it into a bowl or sink.
  • Remember also that the gunk in your cloths builds up over time, in layers. To remove all that gunk you will likewise have to soak your cloths multiple times, each soak will remove more layered gunk.
  • Stains do not affect the working power of your microfiber – they are just stains. This will happen when you use your cloths for cleaning. When you are done deep cleaning there may still be stains. Don’t panic. Just launder and use.

Here are the written Deep Clean Instructions from an earlier post.

Fur Babies – The Rest of the Family

Many of us have fur babies of one kind or another; dogs, cats, gerbils, bunnies, the list could go on and on. How many of you want, no NEED, to keep them clean as they navigate outside and throughout your house?

Care and Feeding of your Norwex

There’s not a lot to it. All you need to do is properly wash and dry your microfiber when it gets dirty. Use Norwex Laundry Detergent for best results, but that isn’t necessary.

  1. No bleach
  2. No fabric softeners or dryer sheets

That’s it! Simple.

Q. How often should you wash your Norwex?
A. Wash when it gets dirty. If you use it regularly wash every 1-2 weeks. Or if you prefer wash it every time you use it.

Norwex microfiber is good for 500 washings, so you can  “Keep It Clean” however you prefer.

Results

When you spend your hard-earned dollars on a product, you want it to work right? I get it – I’m the same way. I will tell you I was not too thrilled that my first purchase of Norwex was going to cost me over $30. I mean, how could those cloths do any better job than what I was getting from my recycled rags I was using at home? BOY was I wrong!!!

Why Norwex Microfiber?

I do not like microfiber, but I LOVE Norwex!! Why? How is Norwex different? There are technical and factual reasons which I’ll outline later in this post – but the real difference is that IT ACTUALLY CLEANS SURFACES! I can clean my patio doors, inside and out, in 5 minutes. And I clean the rest of my windows using just two Norwex cloths (read Basic Package) and water. It takes soooo little time to clean the windows, and when I’m done, no streaks! NO kidding!

Norwex microfiber is so incredibly micro – the fibers are at least 1/200th the width of a human hair! Yeah – that thin!! I don’t know anybody or anything who is that thin – do you? LOL

nxmicrofiberscienceAnd notice how those fibers are woven? The fibers grab everything out of all the pores on the surfaces they touch.

The best part is all you need is water. You no longer have to shop for cleaning chemicals; no trips to the stores, no bringing home cleaners to spray all over and inhale. JUST WATER! That’s definitely the best part.
