Microfiber Booster – for your laundry

A client recently contacted me about her Norwex bath towels. She LOVES them, and takes really good care of them, so they should last her for years. Lately tho they don’t smell so clean, and she reached out to ask for advice. I suggested a deep clean of her towels and in the telling I realized that adding the Microfiber Laundry Booster to her Norwex cleaning collection could help with this as well…so I suggested it, and now I’m suggesting it to you as well.

Microfiber Laundry Booster

The Microfiber Laundry Booster is new to Norwex in the last few years and I use it regularly; both as a booster by adding a scoop to the load, and as an additive to Ultra Power Plus powder. “What the what?!!”, you ask. Here are the two ways I use this fabulous product and the third Norwex recommendation to use in deep cleaning…

  1. When I open a new bag of Ultra Power Plus powder detergent I add 1/4 to 1/2 cup to the bag, seal it back up and shake. I like the extra boost that gives me every time I wash a load.
  2. If I’m washing a particularly dirty, smelly, and/or grimy load I add a scoop to the washer, right along with my powder or liquid Norwex laundry detergent. (Reminder: always add detergent first if you don’t have a detergent dispenser.)
  3. Put a full scoop in HOT water and soak Norwex cloths 30 minutes. Rinse then launder.

Thanks Nanci for the ask…I appreciate it!

New in the Fall of 2016

Watch this video to learn more about our Essential Oils, the Camouflage Optic Scarf, and the Norwex Cutting Board.

I Love to use the Essential Oils on my dryer balls, it gives my laundry a fresh scent! The cutting board is now an essential item in my kitchen. I use mine ALL THE TIME! The best part is you are not cutting into a plastic board so you are not ingesting plastic. Plus my cutting board still has no cut marks in it after 10 months of use!

And of course Norwex finally came out with an Optic Scarf for the guys! Although plenty of the ladies love it too. It is green camouflage and on a carabiner clip. Nice!

Cleaning Hack – Fireplace Doors

It’s March, time to spring clean all around the house right? Well maybe not – I’d rather be outside enjoying the warm weather! One job I can get done really quick is cleaning my fireplace doors. I use a Norwex basic package, some water and Norwex Ultra Power Plus laundry detergent (UPP).

Watch how I clean my fireplace doors in less than 5 minutes!

Here are written instructions

  1. Spray bottle of UPP – Add about 1 teaspoon of UPP to an 8 oz. spray bottle, fill with water. Shake to dissolve.
  2. Put a wet enviro cloth under the door to be cleaned, this will catch the drips.
  3. Spray fireplace door with the spray bottle of UPP. Let it sit for about 2 minutes. (The creosote will start to run off the door when the liquid starts to work. This is where your enviro drip cloth comes in handy.)
  4. Now take your enviro cloth and wipe the door clean.
  5. You may have to repeat the process if your door is really dirty.
  6. Use your Purple Polish (Window) Cloth to dry the door to a streak-free shine.

NOW – go take a break! You deserve it for being so smart!

What’s in your Household Cleaner?

Do you know what’s in the cleaners you use in your home? Think about this…do you REALLY know? Unless you’re making it yourself you don’t. Here’s why…

In the United States there is no federal mandate to tell you what is in the cleaning products you purchase. So even if you see an ingredient list on the product, know that it most probably isn’t a complete list. There are going to be unlisted chemicals in those cleaners. And even worse…there aren’t any testing requirements for chemicals in cleaners!!

The Environmental Working Group has an entire article about the lack of federal oversight.

Now let’s talk about Norwex. Do you need a list of ALL the ingredients in our products? Norwex doesn’t put it on their products, but they do publish those lists for their consultants to access. And I can send any of those lists to you! All you need to do is Ask Me. YAY Norwex!

Care and Feeding of your Norwex

There’s not a lot to it. All you need to do is properly wash and dry your microfiber when it gets dirty. Use Norwex Laundry Detergent for best results, but that isn’t necessary.

  1. No bleach
  2. No fabric softeners or dryer sheets

That’s it! Simple.

Q. How often should you wash your Norwex?
A. Wash when it gets dirty. If you use it regularly wash every 1-2 weeks. Or if you prefer wash it every time you use it.

Norwex microfiber is good for 500 washings, so you can  “Keep It Clean” however you prefer.

Cleaning Hack – Laundry Detergent

UPPNorwex Ultra Power Plus Laundry Detergent (UPP) is awesome! But you probably already know that. And don’t forget it is 100% biodegradable, not tested on animals, free of dyes and fragrances, free of fillers, no phosphates or sulfates. In short – it just cleans without harm.

BUT – there are soooo many more things you can do with UPP than just the laundry!! Here are some of the things I do with UPP at my house:

  • Put 1 tsp. in an 8 oz. spray bottle and fill. Make sure it’s dissolved and use it for:
    • laundry spot pre-treat
    • all-purpose cleaner around the house
    • clean creosote from your fireplace doors
    • spot treat carpet stains
  • Carpet cleaning solution (be sure to check manufacturer’s recommendations)
  • add to hot water and clean your stove fan filters
  • deep clean your Norwex cloths
