Microfiber Booster – for your laundry

A client recently contacted me about her Norwex bath towels. She LOVES them, and takes really good care of them, so they should last her for years. Lately tho they don’t smell so clean, and she reached out to ask for advice. I suggested a deep clean of her towels and in the telling I realized that adding the Microfiber Laundry Booster to her Norwex cleaning collection could help with this as well…so I suggested it, and now I’m suggesting it to you as well.

Microfiber Laundry Booster

The Microfiber Laundry Booster is new to Norwex in the last few years and I use it regularly; both as a booster by adding a scoop to the load, and as an additive to Ultra Power Plus powder. “What the what?!!”, you ask. Here are the two ways I use this fabulous product and the third Norwex recommendation to use in deep cleaning…

  1. When I open a new bag of Ultra Power Plus powder detergent I add 1/4 to 1/2 cup to the bag, seal it back up and shake. I like the extra boost that gives me every time I wash a load.
  2. If I’m washing a particularly dirty, smelly, and/or grimy load I add a scoop to the washer, right along with my powder or liquid Norwex laundry detergent. (Reminder: always add detergent first if you don’t have a detergent dispenser.)
  3. Put a full scoop in HOT water and soak Norwex cloths 30 minutes. Rinse then launder.

Thanks Nanci for the ask…I appreciate it!

Deep Cleaning Demonstration

For those of you who like a visual I’ve created a Deep Cleaning Video so you can see the process. I borrowed two really dirty cloths from customers (thanks Kay and Andrea). Watch these cloths come clean right before your very eyes!!

Keep this in mind:

  • You can boil water on the stove and add the cloths to clean them. I don’t use this method because I would walk away and the cloths would end up permanently stuck to my pan! I prefer to boil the water and pour it into a bowl or sink.
  • Remember also that the gunk in your cloths builds up over time, in layers. To remove all that gunk you will likewise have to soak your cloths multiple times, each soak will remove more layered gunk.
  • Stains do not affect the working power of your microfiber – they are just stains. This will happen when you use your cloths for cleaning. When you are done deep cleaning there may still be stains. Don’t panic. Just launder and use.

Here are the written Deep Clean Instructions from an earlier post.

Care and Feeding of your Norwex

There’s not a lot to it. All you need to do is properly wash and dry your microfiber when it gets dirty. Use Norwex Laundry Detergent for best results, but that isn’t necessary.

  1. No bleach
  2. No fabric softeners or dryer sheets

That’s it! Simple.

Q. How often should you wash your Norwex?
A. Wash when it gets dirty. If you use it regularly wash every 1-2 weeks. Or if you prefer wash it every time you use it.

Norwex microfiber is good for 500 washings, so you can  “Keep It Clean” however you prefer.

Cleaning Hack – Laundry Detergent

UPPNorwex Ultra Power Plus Laundry Detergent (UPP) is awesome! But you probably already know that. And don’t forget it is 100% biodegradable, not tested on animals, free of dyes and fragrances, free of fillers, no phosphates or sulfates. In short – it just cleans without harm.

BUT – there are soooo many more things you can do with UPP than just the laundry!! Here are some of the things I do with UPP at my house:

  • Put 1 tsp. in an 8 oz. spray bottle and fill. Make sure it’s dissolved and use it for:
    • laundry spot pre-treat
    • all-purpose cleaner around the house
    • clean creosote from your fireplace doors
    • spot treat carpet stains
  • Carpet cleaning solution (be sure to check manufacturer’s recommendations)
  • add to hot water and clean your stove fan filters
  • deep clean your Norwex cloths
